When will it end? Here's a Con ad doubling as a "Minister's Award of Excellence" from Jason Kenney. It was given to to an Ottawa resto in 2008. Notice that the Con logo is larger than the emblems of any of the provinces and even the House of Commons. Impolitical has got the story. How many more of these ads, er, awards, are hanging in "ethnic" restaurants across the country?
From the linked Toronto Star story.
Not all CCCA members are happy about that. "The feeling is when we need something from them, they don't listen. But when they want us to do something, they come to us," said one long-time member, who feared losing his party membership if he were identified. "There is so much control by (Tory party) headquarters that it is insulting.

Comment by CK Twight on March 9, 2011 at 11:25am I will play Devil's advocate here; with that "long time member who feared losing party membership" thing...to be fair, this is as bad and not credible as Jane Taber's super seniory Liberal 'insiders'--Susan Delacourt had once implied that they're perhaps really Con operatives. The same could be said of this 'anonymous' con member--is he a Liberal operative?
Seriously, if this so-called anonymous member is soooo disgusted with his party, why the hell should he care about whether or not he has his party membership stripped? In fact, if he were soooo disgusted, he should be the one telling them where to stuff his membership card.
I'm saying, this is not nearly the "Deep throat" stuff of Watergate--no one's lives are in danger here. It's not right for the Toronto Star to use so-called 'Anonymous' Con sources anymore than it is for Jane Taber and her so-called 'Super seniory Liberal sources'.
