The people in this riding vote conservative in every election. How to get the word out to these good, hardworking people that voting conservative would be disastrous for this riding and our country?

A vote for either Helena Guergis or Dr. Kellie Leitch is a vote the same policies that have slowly destoyed our country. Send a message and vote Liberal.Continue

I have to disagree about Ignatieff. I worked on his Leadership Campaign in 2006 and on his re-election campaign in Etobicoke-Lakeshore in 2008. He had lots of support. His handlers turned him into someone he is not and destroyed him. CON-LIB coalition is a very strong possibility I am afraid as the current Libs lean centre -right.

I think Iggy should have resigned a long time ago, as he has never had any support by the people.  So, I would be happy if he resigned.   But I DO NOT want a CON-LIB coalition.

Depends who the Liberal leader is as Ignatieff will resign if the party comes third. There is not much stomach for for co-operation with the NDP so it is like the Libs will align with the Cons to keep the socialist left out.

The NDP has traditionallly been the best Opposition party.  And you can bet that if the LIB & NDP numbers add up to be more than the CON numbers (if we get a CON Minority), there will be a coalition.  I hope the numbers make it so that the Bloc does not have to be included.  But the CON's could use them as the swing vote if an NDP-LIB coalition doesn't include them.

What scares me is what if the NDP get a minority, and then the CON and LIB's gang up on them to form a coalition?

I am afraid of Layton in second place because he is too willing to support Harper and nothing will change in parliament.

I am very happy to see the recent polls are saying that the NDP is in 2nd place nationally, and has pretty much taken the bulk of support from the Bloc in PQ.  Hurray!

Don't give up yet Charlie! My husband normally would vote Conservative but can't stand Harper and says Guergis is just another Con. He was shocked to see how many Liberal signs that were up on private homes in Collingwood. He has lived here 40 years and he has never seen anything like that before. He voted Liberal with me.

I got this verbally from a Green supporter, since they were so pleased with the Green support so far.  She just said she couldn't remember the actual LIB number, but that it was nowhere near the Leitch and Guergis numbers, not even close, so not a contender.  It was the Green candidates mother, as I know her personally.  So, it seems our vote will be wasted no matter what we do, a CON is getting in our riding.  I want Proportional Representation.  This sucks.

Just to clarify, the projections at Proj Democracy are not the same as a poll within the riding. I notice there's a problem with their current projection in that it doesn't included Guergis.

For a brief moment, we considered recommending Guergis as the one with the best chance to defeat the Con. Then we woke up. She believes in Harper's Conservative values and would likely vote with him on most important issues (like at least one of the two current independents).

If it is true it is bad news because Guergis will vote with the Conservatives most of the time anyway.
