We should reject any attempt to undermine the strong emerging consensus that Elizabeth has the best chance of sending Lunn on his way. Confidence in Elizabeth's chances continues to grow.  We can do it !

I was a candidate in the last federal election and I know Elizabeth.  Eventhough I am not running this time, I know Elizabeth has a proven track record of substance, integrity and commitment.  She is very special.  We 'need'  her.

Weird scene on this board. Orchardista? Pretend Greens. Sowing seeds of suspicion everywhere. Ignore it folks. Elizabeth has a proven track record of substance, integrity and commitment. She's doing well. I have been canvassing since the fall of 2009 and I have never seen anything like the response, door2door, that is happening now. There are so many people so enthusiastically pro-Elizabeth. Ignore trolls on this board and others. Good grief.

others to respond,sufficiently to my mind,I am now , because of your further posting wondering if your middle ( or is that muddle) name might be Troll?

 I maintain that the threat of an Orchardista beachhead in federal government is more unsettling to the Cons than the prospect of a lone Green MP.

 My alarm bells went off when I heard that she had last run against Peter MacKay, (arch nemesis of the Orchardists), splitting the vote in his favour.

 It is on this basis that I am somewhat suspicious of Ms. May's presence here.

If she wins, she will not face a now overdue leadership vote, true?

Steve - is there any way you could post links to those polls, or let us know where to look. It has been a considerable source of confusion to people - myself included - and different conclusions have been drawn as a result.

There are four polls for Saanich-Gulf Islands Riding. I believe there is also a dirty tricks campaign attempting to invalidate those results. I shall attempt to provide a complete list of the four as soon is we can locate archive copies of those that have been removed. Let me explain what appear to be deliberately misleading dirty tricks.

The "oversampling correction" report by oraclepoll which you are refering to, was commissioned by GreenPartyStrategies, an organisation competing with the Green Party, or more specifically opposing Elizabeth May. Furthermore the correction does not refer to the Green Party's poll, but to GreenPartyStrategies' own. They were dissatisfied with their own, because it confirmed that Greens were neck and neck with Cons. They failed to identify which poll they were correcting, and then added to the confusion by making their own poll disappear, thus implying that the corrections were to the poll commissioned by the Green Party. This is an important distinction, and highly misleading.

The poll commissioned by the Green Party, was conducted by McAllister Opinion Research, and their sampling has not been questioned.

I believe Green Strategies used a firm from Montreal, and while it is their right to question their own data, the point they make, is that they don't trust their own poll. They should have withdrawn it entirely, rather than trying to fudge the numbers, hiding the original, and then implying that they were doing this in the Green Party's name, or that they are referring to the Green Party's data.

 

Is it necessary to point out that, if GreenPartyStrategies were a respectable organisation, they would have little need to masquerade as the Green Party of Canada?

@TheodoreTrout: There have been four polls done more recently than six months ago. They all have shown Elizabeth May virtually tied with Gary Lunn in the 30% range and the other parties with about half that in the 15% range, giving allowance for +-%. Each was done by a professional polling firm and only one was commissioned by the Green Party. They cover the entire riding. The contest is clearly Elizabeth or Gary; take your pick.

I am an ex-Progressive Conservative Riding Association President. I am not only going to vote for Elizabeth, I am working for her. This top down driven Conservative party is not the party I used to work for. I want an independent non partisan voice of reason in my Parliament.
