Hey All,
I was thinking what we should start doing is putting up posters in this riding and many other ones which shows project democracies projections for the riding. Literally have these all around the ridings showing that it is projected to be Lunn Retaining with May being a close second and a large vote share going red. Just indicate it was projected based upon projectdemocracy's algorithm. What will happen then is that people going in to vote will be able to visually see what we are talking about in terms of the vote split and will make the decision for themselves.

I advocate doing this in every close riding. Posters up all over the place showing bar graphs with the estimated support for candidates.

I think that that is a great idea!!!
A very good idea.  Can you Robert or someone in a position to make it happen get together someone with the polling  information showing the support along with someone with visual design skills and come up with a poster, reproduce it in sufficient numbers and get it in appropriate places in sufficient time to make a difference.  Being too far away to help myself, I can't contribute much, but i think the idea has great potential.
In terms of reproducing the posters I can potentially make the posters themselves. The only issue I have is I will be in no location where it will be possible to disseminate. The creation of the posters may take some time and I know that project democracy updates their numbers so I hope it doesn't result in us making posters that are not up to date...
In terms of disseminating the posters,  for the Saanich Gulf Islands riding, what about asking for help from the campaign office of the Green Party in downtown Sidney or their other one in Saanichton/Saanich (not sure which name is correct) They have a good volunteer base from which to draw.
That's true. Maybe I will just do up Elizabeth May's one initially and see how it goes. Only problem is project democracy shows her and renee as being tied so couldn't it sway people to vote liberal?
If you select the poll button, it has a drop down menu with a number of different projections to choose from. The EKOS, April 21st based projections is much more favorable.

Also, threehundredeight.com has projected that Lunn will get 37.3, May will get 25.2, the NDP 19.4 and the Liberals 18.1.

Hey,
Project democracy says they are revising their picks and updating tomorrow. I will therefore make the poster using their stuff updated for tomorrow. Any ideas on how to share these things if they'll be as .pdf files?
Hey I don't know really what specifications we would want but a standard 2 foot by 1.5 foot poster would be a good size.
Here's my idea,
i'm not terribly artsy so be brutal!

See the .pdf attached for the poster

Don't want to rain on the parade but Catch 22 hasn't relied on projections from other sites to identify ridings or recommend candidates. As well, any literature with our logo, needs to be pre-approved and accounted for under the regulations of the Elections Act.

Completely understandable. Shall be edited. Is Project Democracy a non-profit?

Question also, would showing your pick be considering an infringement also, for example a poster showing Project Democracy and Catch 22's pick, like a little logo showing your pick?
