For the past year, the Catch 22 Campaign has been identifying vulnerable Conservative ridings, networking, building our base and laying the groundwork for the election. We are now moving forward with making specific endorsements through a process that includes local supporters in target ridings.
We had successful endorsement meetings in Ottawa and Vancouver last week. We also pioneered our first online endorsement discussion in Saanich-Gulf Islands. We have now endorsed our first 6 candidates. We are using our online groups to organize the discussions and decision making. After the discussion period closes, we will make a final decision on the riding endorsement.
We will be rolling out a few recommendations per day with an eye to wrapping up the process on April 8 or 9. By that time we will have also identified a number of vulnerable opposition ridings and will compile the Catch 22 Voters’ Guide for our target ridings.
In Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge-Mission, the Catch 22 Campaign team is recommending that we endorse Craig Speirs, from the NDP as the candidate with the only chance to defeat Conservative Randy Kamp. If you want to participate in the discussion and decision-making, you will need to join this online group.
Discussion on the Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge-Mission endorsement will end on April 6 at 11:00 p.m. local time.

Craig Speirs (NDP) is the only candidate who can defeat Randy Kamp (Conservative) in Pitt Meadows - Maple Ridge - Mission. In addition to his other community activities, Craig has helped our April 4 success in stopping privatisation of the Abbotsford - Mission municipal water supply. He seems like a very good man.
We have a chance here ONLY if the Liberal and Green candidates withdraw before April 11. The only benefit to the Greens and Liberals running here is to get their $2 per vote, which will be eliminated if Harper wins a majority. Could Peter Tam (Green) please therefore gallantly withdraw to prevent this? Kudos to the Liberal party for not nominating a candidate to split the vote here.
The key to defeating Harper is to use email and social networks to reach the people who do not vote because they believe their vote will not count and explain how, in this riding, their vote for Craig Speirs can defeat Harpers' despotic rule.
Unless the NDP and Liberal candidates withdraw in Saanich-Gulf Islands to avoid splitting the strong green vote, and urge their supporters to vote for Elizabeth May (Green), Gary Lunn (Conservative) will win there again.
Ryan Dolby's astute, patriotic and courageous withdrawal as NDP candidate to prevent a Harper victory in London, Ontario, is the most significant potential electoral development since women got the vote. If candidates in suitable ridings who cannot possibly win follow his lead, and if their supporters switch to voting for the stronger candidate, Canada will be saved from the imminent catastrophe of a Harper majority.
Please urge the Green, Liberal and NDP leaders to agree on withdrawing candidates who can't win so they can ALL gain more seats in Parliament and prevent a Harper majority.
