I don't live in Ottawa West, does it count that I grew up there? The reason I'm here is that I am alarmed and dismayed by the Reform Par...oops, Conservative Party of Canada. The values are wrong and the ignorance is appalling. I'm living the Mike Harris nightmare all over again. Strategic voting is a tricky thing. It would demand serious strategy. Perhaps an open letter to the voters of Ottawa West would be a good start...just listing bits of information hat we've gathered. Tracy Morey
I don't live in Ottawa West either, Ottawa Center, but it has been identified as a Catch22 riding where there may be a chance of defeating a Conservative, not only a lowly Conservative, but John Baird a pivotal neo-con.
I too don't like to see what is happening to Canada under Harper and will do anything to see him removed. My feeling is that many people who voted Conservative have no idea what his policies are and have voted Conservatives for years thinking that the Harper Conservatives are the some as those as those of Mulroney, Clarke, Flora MacDonald et al. Boy are they wrong.
Harper has an agenda based on right wing extremism and evangelical dogma. I don't know how familiar you are about the past of Mr. Harper but if you are not here are a few sites have some interesting information..

That's exactly what Catch 22 hopes to accomplish in ridings like OWN. Hope you'll get involved. And you're absolutely spot on about the Mike Harris nightmare. Ontario is still digging out from that blizzard.
I think we need to both inform the seniors in this riding on the truth about Baird, and to get the folks who did not vote last two times to vote - anything but conservative.
