Two elections ago unknown rookie Rod Bruinooge squeaked by Reg Alcock by 111 votes. This time Terry Duguid is the strongest competitor.
Make it happen.

Permalink Reply by c p on April 5, 2011 at 7:53pm BTW, am i incorrect in assuming the NDP candidate Rebecca Blaikie is the daughter of Bill Blaikie, a veteran NDP Member of Parliament from Winnipeg? She ran as NDP candidate in LaSalle—Émard in Montreal, Quebec. She received 4.97% of the vote share, and was not elected. She did however receive a large amount of press coverage.
NDP supporters in Winnipeg South, NDP projected 8.2% of votes would help Terry Duguid!
Permalink Reply by Martin on April 5, 2011 at 9:18pm Actually,, the NDP candidate is Dave Gaudreau. I am not sure what happened to Rebecca Blaikie, but the change was made recently. As its stands Lib Terry Duguid has the best chance.

Duguid has credentials and experience that far exceed the total experience and credentials of all the other candidates combined.

As an MP Rod Bruinooge has been working to have abortion laws changed,, hard to believe:

Permalink Reply by Eric on April 10, 2011 at 8:47pm Rebecca Blaikie is running in Winnipeg North.
She is the daughter of Big Bill. Big Bill is currently in the tough spot of being the Conservation Minister for the current NDP Manitoba provincial government.
