I would like to raise the issue of what happens after the election.  I know this is jumping the gun but i think we need to be prepared for the worst just in case.  Regardless of the outcome, it is my hope that the Catch 22 crew, website and organization stays intact.  In the worst case scenario of a Harper majority, Catch 22 could lie in wait for a byelection and maybe the losing opposition parties may finally relent and cooperate a bit. Catch 22 could lend a serious hand to that process.  Further,  Harper with a majority may alienate yet more Canadians with his extremist policies and people will hopefully want to start mobilizing earlier than they did this time in order to change the election result next time. I am assuming that Harper will still allow elections and that he won't declare himself Prime Minister for life.

On a different note,  are people who are helping out a candidate identifying themselves as Catch 22 supporters or are they just volunteering and appearing to be a Liberal supporter, NDP supporter etc? I am just asking what the trend  is in this regard.

on't be too sure that Harper does not intend to be Prime Minister for life as he is proposing to eliminate political party funding. This vindictive move if enacted would seriously erode the ability of elected opposition members from doing their job to be ready to form a government which is a key element in our democratic system.

I would encourage Catch 22 members to identify themselves when working with the campaign for a candidate endorsed by Catch 22.

Bad news if Harper does get a majority. He will probably ban elections after that! I posted the action taken by the Dutch over bank bonuses. I think we should do the same and threaten mass withdrawals from all banks if parliament does not vote in proportional representation. If Elizabeth May gets in she could introduce the bill and we could back her up by our actions. We can't rely on any of the other elected parties to support her without action from us. If we can push through proportional representation then we could all actually vote for who we want in future elections and end all this strategic voting for once and all. I think the one million who voted Green along with the rest of us who will not vote Conservative could make quite an impression with the "Dutch" strategy.

we  don't have  another 4 years  to watch him prove himself a   bad choice for the country. in that time period he can do so many changes to the laws that it could years  decades  for other government to try to abolish them   and more years to try to right  the deficit. whatever party wins him out would  have the horrid task of  raising taxes ,cutting programs and what not to repair  the damage stephen is  doing.'

i am not  political savy  but i do know  a scary leader when i see one  and yes  thats mr harper.hes a good deceiver . why does man kind keep  getting sucked in by them types? over and over again.  another thing to  i'm mad at the  the liberal party  for playing  along with him  for so long. like wtf is that??. that  does not inspire the greatest of confidence in me..  but i will vote anything  but pc:)
