Anyone up for a national rally for democracy (similar to the one CAPP held a year ago)?

I am up for it, Diane!!  Really hoping this gets rolling to a big success, there is hunger for action, to be heard!  And, Rallies are fun! :)

It is essential that we act together on this. The initiative is great. Only problem is that there are already calls for a Day of Dissent 'Enough!' organized for the 9th of April, in Ottawa, and, I think, cross country. How can you all get together to collaborate on this so we have real impact? Please check out what is being planned at www.ottawapeace.org. Also please get in touch with Fair Vote.

We need a startegy and a coalition of all groups working on this. When all our groups are connected, we can talk about doing something meaningful. Dividing, they rule (we let them).

Hi Esther,

I posted the message about the rally on the 19th to spread the word. Perhaps if you

were to post something on the Rally web site people could find ways to come together in the way that

you suggest. That is certainly needed.

Thanks, Diane, this is great.

We'll be at Paliament Hill at 1:00.

By the way, I am not sure what the Rally web is. Maybe we need to have the Uncut Canada start organizing us all together!

This is the Facebook link and I think all the rallies are listed under "Events"...

Uncut Canada may be the way to go.

Hi Diane,
We were at the Hill from 1:00 to after 2:00, waiting for others to join us for the Rally. A few people (one person had come all the way from Pembroke) milled around looking for the meeting. No one was there, to every one's disappointment. A group of us were there volunteering for Fair Vote. The Libyans were on the steps. Tourists in between. But no rally.
What happened?
Esther
Hi Esther,
Sorry about the misunderstanding. I knew I would be out of town this weekend and not
able to rally on the 19th. Since I couldn't be there I tried to help the group by spreading the word about the rallies.
D.

No problem, Diane, we thought about 50 people indicated they would be there. I subsequently heard about 10 were on the Hill. We'll do better next time.
