New Angus Reid poll puts Conservatives eight points ahead of Liberals
The sneaky Conservatives are sneaking further ahead of the Liberals.
While the Angus Reid poll shows Harper’s gang eight points ahead of the Liberals, the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc are matching their vote share from the last federal election. On the other hand, the Tories are three points behind.
This means Harper – at 34 per cent in the polls – is considerably short of enough support to consider calling or forcing an election.
Voters who seem to be disillusioned with the four main parties, appear to be responsible for a jump in popularity by the Greens, who are four points ahead of their 2008 national total. Burt while the Greens stand at 11 per cent, they will have a tough time turning their growing popularity into any seats before their vote is widely dispersed across the country.
Poll results, released this morning, appear on The National Post website.
What do Canadian voters think of their leaders: Harper was described by 38 per cent as being secretive, and by 36 per cent as being arrogant. Ignatieff: 35 per cent say he is boring. Duceppe: 30 per cent feel that he is arrogant.

I am very cautious about Angus Reid polls. They always tend to have the conservatives higher than any other polls taken about the same time. I prefer Nik Nanos who does the polls for the Globe and Mail. He has been the most accurate pollster in the last 2 federal elections. The shifts are small at this time but the daily polls with Nanos show the conservatives dropping a little each day and the liberals rising very slowly.
