I had wondered what effect this campaign and others would have on the election. Clearly they are ineffective as most of the target ridings we're unaffected and the large switch to the NDP occured in Quebec, most of which went to the NDP from the left wing Bloc.
The first lesson that can be learned is that vote swapping is a failure due to a lack of ability to confirm how your swapper actually voted.
The second lesson that can be learned is that most voters do not vote against someone (AKA Harper) but rather for something. A vote for a green is not the same as a vote for the NDP or liberals they are all different.
Change is only possible by working with one political party you favor.
